In Old Style, it always shoots three bullets in succession between intervals while in Easy, it will only shoot one bullet. In Easy and Old Style, it goes around in a tight rectangular path in the middle of the room and shoot energy bullets towards the player at regular intervals. It will reform its bubble a total of four times, moving faster as it takes damage (except in Easy). Usually, the player should constantly attack CWU-01P to shrink its bubble's size to make it easier for the player to avoid colliding into it as it moves and attacks. The player must penetrate CWU-01P's bubble by using enough attacks on it before it can be damaged, similar to the Green Devil.

The lines of dialogue are a direct reference to the Daleks from the Doctor Who series whenever the CWU-01P states the word "E-LIM-IN-ATE!" compared to the Daleks "EX-TER-MIN-ATE!" It now has invincibility frames just like any other boss.

It has a new design and speaks in a voice and manner similar to that of a security drone.

It is this time fought in the second Wily stage and reforms its bubble multiple times, changing the color of its "eye" while doing so (at full health, its color is blue but it changes to green, yellow, orange and red as its health decreases). In the remake Mega Man Powered Up, there is only one CWU-01P present. The ideal strategy is to defeat the first 3 with your buster, then use the blocks to destroy the remaining four. However, there are only 4 blocks, which are not enough to destroy all 7. Their weakness is Super Arm, which can instantly destroy them. Each CWU-01P defeated removes 4 HP from the total HP. Each one will get progressively faster in movement speed, and have different eye colors (yellow, blue, green, pink, orange, brown, red).Įach CWU-01P takes 10 shots from the buster to destroy, and since they are treated like enemies, they do not have boss I-frames. After one of them gets destroyed, the next one will come into play shortly after. Every now and then, the eye will fire 3 shots one by one, each aimed at the player. A CWU-01P will reveal itself from one of the three holes in the walls and ceiling, and upon touching a surface, will roll around the room in a clockwise rotation. The arena has 4 Guts Blocks in the middle which can be used for platforming. The water won't slow you down like in Ice Man's Stage, however. Seven CWU-01Ps make up the boss fight of Wily Stage 3.Īlthough the area takes place in water, the player cannot do a full water jump like in future titles. In both games, the CWU-01P's body is surrounded by a bubble that must be popped before it can be attacked properly, although the Super Arm Blocks can ignore that bubble. Its eye now has a grey-ish frame and starts off blue, but changes colour as the CWU-01P's health drops, and there is a blue-ish panel to the lower right of its eye.

In Mega Man Powered Up, the robot's design is changed to look rounder, the pipe is moved even higher to the top of its body, and it is red with a quarter of its body being grey. It had a single eye that, in its artwork, is yellow and surrounded by red, and a hose-like pipe can be seen above its eye in the upper-left quadrant. In the first Mega Man game, the CWU-01P's design was slightly blocky. The description given assumes that the beholder is at the CWU-01P's front.
